TTI’s system engineering team provides systems engineering integration support for robotic and human space exploration programs with focus on Verification and Validation (V&V). Our team supports various space exploration activities, and these tasks include integrating with people and tools to develop and/or maintain system engineering products that include V&V objectives, V&V processes, requirements, traceability reports and other similar products and tasks. Our team works on federal customer’s site with a large team of System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) personnel across multiple NASA centers in a virtual environment.

Our engineers support the following:
​
  • Requirements analysis, allocation, traceability and verification using various requirements development software tools

  • Utilize Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) to defining architectural views, deriving & developing mission threads, and defining use cases for enterprise level verification planning

  • Perform system level trade-off studies, systems integration, system architecture definition and risk management/mitigation

  • Assist in development of V&V processes and products, including Detailed Verification Objectives (DVOs), Validation Objectives, V&V processes, V&V plan, Verification Events and Verification Closure Notices (VCNs).

  • Develop additional, and yet to be identified, V&V products and processes as the EHP design life cycle matures.

  • Provide support to the development and assessment of other SE&I products such as requirements and trace reports.

  • Assess existing verification methods and approaches for various space mission Program documentation

  • Perform program-to-program system engineering integration by coordinating inputs, resolving issues, and providing day-to-day support to integration team activities.

Project Engineering

TTI’s team supports projects for the development and certification of spaceflight hardware and also periodically perform sustaining tasks for hardware (i.e., diagnostics, tools, stowage, restraints, laptops, cameras, etc.) in support of NASA's International Space Station (ISS) and Orion Programs. Our team supports tests and other related activities and works with commercial software such as IBM Maximo, MS SharePoint, and Creo Parametric, in addition to customized software.

Simulation Systems

TTI’s SW engineering team supports the development of the SSIM by interacting with stakeholders from various aerospace end-users. The Mars2020 Activity Planning Subsystem (APSS) collaborates with the Robotic Planning Subsystem (RPS) and uses the Surface Simulation (SSim) software which directly interfaces with the Flight Software code.

 

Our team will provide the following support:

 

  • Writing C and C++ code for SSim

  • Collaborating with SSim System engineer to establish requirements of the simulation system

  • Interacting with customers and other software developers to understand the modeling and simulation capabilities needed

  • Creating interfaces and contributing to the general development of SSim

TTI personnel collaborate with engineers and participate in supporting and enhancing the underlying systems various platforms via deployment of new system configurations, working with new tools, participation in agile scrums and operational field support. Engage in support efforts and system configuration such as system provisioning and setup, security patching, configuration management and system hardening. System support services for other areas of the SDLC team, performance monitoring and data analysis, investigation into tools and/or processes that could be utilized to improve efficiency of routine tasks and increase reliability and velocity of system maintenance both in the lab and in the field.
